Ann’s inspiration comes from the environment, people, nature, music, and words. Her work is in response to these items. She works from refined technics to repurposed found items. Her style varies from abstraction, representational, expressionism, to minimalism. Her art is a process of forming selected objects, media, and whatever it takes to react intuitively. The response is the art.
Ann studied welding at IAI Welding Trade School in Onaway and East Jordan. She is a commissioned artist for public artwork in Alpena, East Jordan, Cheboygan, Mackinaw City, Hubbard Lake, Lewiston, Harrison, and Elk Rapids. She founded the Ottowa Art Park in Cheboygan and many projects with communities for public art as a designer and director. She has been featured in the American Welding Society Magazine, Exhibited at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, and a selected artist in residence at Iron One Studio. She enjoys gardening, traveling, and working in the arts daily. Follow her artwork on Facebook at Gildner Gallery Studio
